Broken but Not Forgotten

We cry when animals get beat because they can't protect themselves yet we turn the other cheek when children who can't protect themselves get beat.
Well those beaten, broken children grow up to be broken beating adults.
This cycle of abuse has got to stop. Our hearts have got to skip a beat when we hear of yet another child being abused. Our hearts should skip a beat as we look at these grown
up children doing the only thing they were taught to do.
These children, these grown up children are more damaged than they were as kids cause now they're doing what they swore they'd never do.
This cycle has got to end! But where does it end? They see no end. We are the end.
We can break this cycle. We can set them free.
Because we can do all through Christ who strengthens thee.

I was laying in bed and I heard what I thought was a whip and then a horse neighing and I was so upset. I was so sad that this helpless animal was being beaten but then it hit me how there are so many people who get beaten so much worse and more regularly yet we don't talk about it. Why don't we talk about it?! My theory is that it its just too painful to acknowledge. It's to scary to admit that people could do such a thing to another person but you know what's even scarier? The fact that so many of us can ignore women, children, and even men being beaten. How can we live with ourselves if we acknowledge what people go through and still do nothing about it. We can't so it's easier to just pretend that it doesnt happen. It's easier to pretend that people are not beaten and broken emotionally and physically everyday of every hour. Lets stand up for that person we see being treated unfairly, lets love deeper, lets protect more. Let's work together more.
P.S. this was written at about 2am and inspired but God so s/o to the homie for giving me these words
